Dance Portraits 2016

The end of dance season is upon us. Costumes were ordered months ago- they have arrived! Commence the dance portraits! In just a few more weeks it will be recital time. Rewind 6 years earlier. This little girl was just 17 months and still in diapers when I read about a new dance studio opening up in Central Square. Now that I look back on it, I am sure Tara + Katrina must have thought my emails were slightly obnoxious, although they would never say that out loud. Seriously- 17 months, but they were willing to take her at their studio ProDance Academy every Saturday morning and lucky for me Miss Katrina’s daughter was in the same class and just 3 months older. A bond began and the friendship between our girls is so beautiful, the kind that lasts a lifetime. (if you click the link to the website, you will see my sweet girl toddling off in the end of their very first studio commercial, my gosh has she grown taller!)  I still remember walking around Central Square or having coffee in the Cheeseboard after dropping her off each morning in a handmade Smooshy Mu tutu + coordinating hair bow because I was too nervous to leave her. This was the first time I would leave my little girl with someone other than family. The nerves eventually faded because I always knew she was in the best hands. Miss Tara and Miss Katrina are such talented women. They are dancers. They are Moms. They are entrepreneurs. They have so much to teach your child. In the last 6 years we have become friends. It’s a beautiful thing to see our girls grow up on stage and I could not be a more proud Mom.
